Home & School AssociationThis page was updated on January 9, 2013.St. Joseph School Home and School Association is the very visible and vibrant parents association of the school. It was organized with a three-fold purpose: 1. to promote communication, good will, and cooperation among parents, faculty, administration, school board, and the parish of St. Joseph School, and 2. to provide leadership and coordination of activities for the purpose of service, special functions, educational programs, and/or fund-raising, and 3. to foster the political action of parents as advocates regarding national, state, and local legislation that affects Catholic schools as well as the lives of students and parents. All parents and faculty of St. Joseph School are members of the Home and School Association. The 2012-2013 officers of the Home and School Association are: John Falcon - President Lori Kyle - Vice President Crystal Smith - Treasurer Sarah LaCroix - Recording Secretary Shari Amerson - Corresponding Secretary Kristy Wisecarver - Historian Jerod Breaux - Parliamentarian Notes from JohnDear SJS Parents and Faculty,It is that time of year again. Fair preparations are in full swing. The next fair committee meeting will be January 16, 30, and February 13, in the library. I look forward to working with everyone to make this fair even more successful than last year’s record-setting event. The next Home and School general meeting is scheduled forThursday, February 7, at 6:30 p.m. in the gym. We will be discussing several upcoming fund raising events. Also on the agenda are several expenditures we would like your input on. Fair packets will be sent home in the Wednesday, January 16, packet. All Fair information is also available on the school website. The fair dates are March 8-10, 2013. The parent work schedule for the fair will be the same as last year with only slight modifications to cover certain shifts that were short handed. The schedule will be forwarded to all room moms in the near future. Raffle tickets for the fair will be going home on Wednesday, January 16, 2013. Extra tickets will be available in the office sometime next week. Make sure to mark envelopes with your child’s name and class when returning tickets.
